The four deer of Yggdrasil

 The four deer of Yggdrasil

Dain, Dvalin, Duneyr and Durathror.

ᚢ

Úr er af illu jarne ;

opt løypr ræinn á hjarne

slag comes from bad iron;

the reindeer often run on the frozen snow

« Much more remarkable is the Eikthyrni deer that stands on the Valhalle and eats the twigs of the tree. From its antlers an ooze is distilled so abundantly that it flows into Hvergelmir ».

Gylfaginning 49

The requirements and conditions for starting  in  « The Way of the Deer in the Hail ».

Thus, eight principles may constitute the pillars of the Way and its substance:

1) A sincere will and firm determination of the Wotanist in his commitment to the Way. The sign of this quality is self-sacrifice and always being ready to face trials and perform the proper works at every moment; in other words, making the requirements of the Way a priority .

2) The constant search for conditions favourable to obedience to the 14 Raðumk (https://t.me/Aryanpaganism/2691) and the means that facilitate them. This is characterised by breaking all relationships with evil companions (Thralls , Skreals and Muspelheimers. In other words, the aspirant must, especially in the early stages of his journey on the path, avoid the company of common men who do not aspire to the same spiritual elevation as he does, lest they, by their behaviour, speech or actions, have an influence on his commitment or spirituality which, although growing, is still in its infancy and has some weaknesses.

 And since the ascetic exercises to which he will give himself are supposed to polish the mirror of his heart ᛡ i.e. to enter into resonance with Baldr, so that the latter may receive the Divine Light I.E. the Mead, he must also avoid exposing it to any form of defilement that would reinforce the veils that separate it from this Light.

3) Knowledge of the state of his soul. The sign of this quality is the constant meditation on the vices of the soul and its defects. Indeed the Way is also a Way of education of the soul which requires a knowledge of the human soul and the different faculties and forces that compose it, including undisciplined desire, resentment and anger, but also and above all, a knowledge of the different forms that the human soul can take (cf. the different Kingdoms of Yggdrasil which are levels of consciousness)

4) The company of a Sage, i.e. an Initiate who has already reached a deep understanding of the 14 words, the 88 precepts and the Edda. This type of person differs from the « Academics » in that he is primarily interested in the inner and spiritual aspect of the Edda and the cultic practices, in moral perfection through the daily Hud (https://telegra.ph/The-Supreme-Rite-of-the-Prince-Priest-04-15, you need to use Tor), and in behaviours and attitudes of the heart such as sincerity and the struggle against the vices of the soul and the Lokian suggestions. This is the type of Man whose mere company illuminates the heart and cultivates spirituality. The sign that the novice has fulfilled this condition is that he prefers the company of this Sage to any other person or activity.

5) Pure self-criticism (https://t.me/PathOfWotan/40) and sincere contrition which help the aspirant to find and savour the sweetness of obedience to the will and recommendations of Wotan as spelled out in the Hávamál, the 88 precepts and to remain constant, diligent and persevering in that obedience which reflects, in fact, the reality of one’s submission to the Divine Laws encoded in our sacred texts.

6) A lawful food that is not condemned by common sense nor by Freyr, the friend of pleasures, the Lord, the Noble One – not eating what Freyr would not eat.

7) A studious companion with whom the novice maintains a relationship of mutual support and assistance in the journey on the Way. This implies that this companion is also committed to the Way and has the same spiritual ambitions and plans as you. The mark that allows us to recognise this companion and to be sure of his piety is the fact that he always seeks mutual help in the good, in the reverential respect of the Æsir and that he seeks to establish a relationship of spiritual solidarity with his friend.

8) The presence of the Novice at the Great Feasts of Community Time (Yule, Beltaine, etc.)

— The fulfilment of these eight conditions is indispensable for those who wish to follow the Way, for they constitute a support, a viaticum and a sustenance without which progress on this path may be compromised from the outset.
